UPDA Engineer Registration Renewal Procedure, Qatar

The UPDA License Renewal Procedure is designed to help engineers in Qatar maintain their professional credentials. This process involves several key steps, including document submission, online applications, and adherence to specific guidelines set by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).

To renew your Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA) certificate in Qatar, you need to gather required documents, complete the renewal application form, submit it (online or at the UPDA office), pay the renewal fee (200 QR), and wait for approval.

How to Renew UPDA Engineer Registration

You should have the following documents ready (scanned) to upload in the online system in MME Website for UPDA License Renewal:

  • Photo
  • QID
  • Last Engineer Registration Certificate or ID
  • Experience Certificate for the last 3 years
  • Degree Certificates

MME Engineers Registry Renewal Steps

  1. Go to the MME Website to start your UPDA License Renewal process.
  2. Log in to MME Website — Click Login and it will direct you to Hukoomi Login Page using your personal credentials (not company). Your username is QID.
  3. Once your credentials are accepted, it will take you to the MME site.
  4. Click Engineer and Engineering Committee.
  5. Click Registration and Follow-up Applications. The Engineer and Engineering Committee Page will show.
  6. Click Apply >> Admission Committee Engineers services.
  7. Registration and follow-up of Applications Electronically page will show, then click Renew.
  8. The Renewal page will appear, then click Next. The following documents should be ready.
  9. Renewal Page — My Info Page: Update your information as required. Click Next.
  10. Renewal Page — Skills Page: Update your information as required. Click Next.
  11. Renewal Page — Attach Page: Attach all required documents, then click Next.
  12. Renewal Page — Print Page: The reference number will be shown. Keep it for follow-up regarding your renewal.
  13. Wait for an SMS from BALADIYA. The message will confirm your renewal enrollment and ask you to come to pay the fees and get the new ID. Payment is through ATM or Credit Card only (no cash).
Note: The renewal process must be completed within one month from the expiry date. It is better to renew one month prior to expiry to avoid fines for non-renewal of MME registration.

On the Attach Page, upload all required documents and click Next. On the Print Page, note your reference number for follow-up.

Wait for an SMS from BALADIYA confirming acceptance. Pay the renewal fee (QR.200, subject to change) by ATM or Credit Card. No cash is accepted.

Important Tips on UPDA License Renewal Process:
  • Renew at least one month before expiry to avoid fines/ Try to do renewal submission with in the last 30 days before the license expiry date.
  • Failure to renew your UPDA certificate on time may result in cancellation of your registration after four months from the expiry date.
  • A fine may be applied for late renewal.
